Riley Biederer is a 17 year old female singer from Atlanta, America. The student began writing her own songs with the help of Garage Band on her neighbours laptop. Riley was recently houndered by the GA music hall of fame in 2012, this gives recognition to young performing artists for their outstanding achievements and talents. Out of her 5 written and produced songs, we decided to choose ‘Daylight.’

PLAY SONG

We chose to use riley and this particular song as we felt her music sounded very professional and could be seen in the charts against other pop artists, we also felt that this track was exactly what we set out to find -In the back of our heads we knew we wanted to go with the pop genre but we specifically wanted it to be upbeat.

////////////////

Our first impressions when listening to this track was that it was a happy, upbeat song which younger generations would listen to we therefore it felt necessary that this came across in our music video, so we took a look at what is currently in the charts like riley biederer and came up with this mood board for our initial thoughts, ideas and inspiration for ‘daylight’.

/////////////

We believe the general story line within the music video should relate to the lyrics and emotions received from the song. For example, the lyrics have the common theme of nature/weather running through them which means we could have some interesting location choices to amplify this. Furthermore as stated earlier this song is aimed at a young generation, because of this we want to revolve the music promo around teenage actors, getting up to what they stereotypically do and falling in love/having a crush.

We felt personally that this promo needed to include partly singing and partly storyline/narrative. We didn't want to use band or instrument shots within this music video as through our research, pop promos conventionally tend not to include this.

/////////////////

Our first idea of a location was the beach. We came up with two separate beach locations with the first one being Wells in Norfolk. We like this location as It’s very scenic and also versatile, before reaching the beach there is also a woods in which we could also film in and include within the music video, this beach also tends to be quite quiet, especially on weekdays when we plan to film and the impression of a desolate beach will make the video look more private and ‘high end’.

/////////////
Our second location choice is also in Norfolk at Cromer. This location stood out to us for different reasons. Cromer beach is framed by cliffs and unlike wells, also has a pier which we could imagine being a good scenic view as part of our promo. Both of these destinations are within a two hour drive which makes them easy to get to and not to far away if worst came to worst and we had to re shoot some footage for example.

//////////////

Our Second location idea is a woodland area. Our two choices are Sherwood Forrest in Nottingham, and Sandringham Forrest in Norfolk we both agreed that these were equally aesthetically pleasing and although in different directions to one another exactly the same distance away from Bourne -both being just under an hour and a half away making them reasonable destinations.

////////////////

Our Third and final location idea is to film at a Fairground. We have found a stable fairground in Mablethorpe which is 1 hour and 33minutes away so it is affordably reachable. We decided this might be the most appropriate fairground as other fairgrounds which would be on are travelling so may not be as easy to film especially  if we have to go back for a second day of filming. We thought a Fairground would be appropriate for this song as a fairground is for young people and it’s quite different to the usual pop video locations.
