How we chose "Daylight"

When it came to choosing our music we discussed which genres we would be most interested in and we short listed Pop, Acoustic and Indie. We thought that these would be the best to choose from as the target audience for them is around our age so we could relate and perhaps make a more effective video.

Pop - is music that is very eclectic, often borrowing elements from other styles including urban, dance, rock, Latin and country.

Acoustic - music which comprises music that solely or primarily uses instruments.

Indie - (rock) a genre of alternative rock music, (dance) a type of dance music rooted on indie rock and indie pop

As we started looking into the genres in more detail we found that Pop was the genre we wanted to cocentrate fully on. Once we had decided that we looked up unsigned artists on: http://www.unsigned.com/
We found a few options but they weren't quite what we were looking for so we looked at other sites like YouTube. As well as looking at single artists we considered bands but realised we probably wouldn't be able to get the instruments or band members and so we decided to stick with single female artists for us to then create a narrative with. We found a few more artists which we liked one called Riley Birieder, another Tori Kelly,

After listening intently to the various different artists we decided the female artist we wanted to use a song from was Riley Biriederer.
