CD covers are usually a statement from the artist to their
audience, as well as to attract people to view their album and consider
purchasing it. Some artists create limited edition covers which are
interactive, this would be to sell more as it is limited as well as advertising
it through word of mouth or adverts publicising the one off chance to purchase
it.

Lily Allen's cover is colourful, bold and different as it
has a background image with her sitting and leaning on enlarged letters of her
name. As this hasn't been done before it stands out from all the others as well
as adding an element of fun. It states her name at the top clearly with the
name of her album underneath. She uses the same font type for her name as she
does on all of her albums.
Muse use the same logo for their name a line above and below the word and it's in bold, capitals. Represents the map of the human brain's pathways. This being very individual and unique attracts the audiences attention to listen to what sort of music is behind the image.
Rihanna has used a lot of red on her album cover, this could be to show her more sexual side as red can indicate as a seductive colour. This cover is just of her face as well very simple yet it still stands out and makes her audience want to buy her album.
